White Nights in St. Petersburg17.06.2016 On the first day in St. Petersburg, the group visited the Faberge Museum, located at the Naryshkin-Shuvalov Palace. The museum houses a magnificent collection of jewels Carl Faberge and Russian works of jewelry and arts and crafts XIX-XX centuries. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() In the Gothic hall, once the former cabinet of Count Peter Shuvalov, is stored a collection of Russian icons XVI- XX centuries, most of which are decorated with rich precious salaries by famous jewelers of Moscow and St. Petersburg. The day ended with a visit to one of the most brilliant ballets of the Romantic era - "Le Corsaire" at the famous Mikhailovsky Theatre. ![]() On the second day, the group made an excursion to Kronstadt and the island of Valaam, where they visited the Valaam Monastery, which had been considered a bastion of Orthodoxy in Russia since ancient times. The tour participants visited the Central estate of Spaso-Preobrazhensky Monastery Stauropegial, where in the main cathedral were the relics of St. Herman and Sergius of Valaam. Guests had the opportunity to see the Valaam icon of the Mother of God, listen to a concert singers of the monastery, visit the unique in its beauty Nicholas Skete monastery. ![]() ![]() ![]() After a day spent on Valaam, the participants of the International Club "Business Partnership" expected even more extensive cultural program. Luxury suburban ensembles: Oranienbaum, built by a close associate of Peter the Great, Alexander Menshikov, extant in its original form, and the official residence of Peter I in Strelna with restored Konstantinovsky Palace, located on the southern shore of the Gulf of Finland, captivated the participants travel by its magnificence and splendor. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() On the last day in St. Petersburg, participants visited the Yusupov Palace on the river Moika - a unique architectural ensemble of the XVIII-early XX century, which owned the stately Shuvalov, Branitsky and five generations of the Yusupov princes. Unusually magnificent ceremonial palace interiors of the mansion, particularly impressive suite of front mezzanine, architecture and decoration were designed in the style of the grand Russian Empire. And in the concert hallthe guests listened to a cappella men's chorus. ![]() ![]() Next, the group moved to the attractive Polovtsev mansion, now the House of Architects. This building is characterized by luxury interior and understated classical facade. The unique decor of most valuable wood and marble, parquet floor and molding, as well as many more, is able to capture the imagination of all visitors of this wonderful place.
![]() ![]() And at the end of the trip the group visited the wonderful museum complex - a museum-estate of Derzhavin on Fontanka, which includes three buildings to recreate the interior rooms and placed them in the literary and memorial exposition, manor garden and greenhouse.
![]() Saying goodbye to St. Peterburg, guests had a vivid impression of this unique city - the historical and cultural gems of Russia, admired its magnificence, abundance of sights and friendly people.
